Speakers belong to an event. Get the event’s id from List events, then use it in the speaker endpoints.
Contact details (email, phones, address) are only returned to keys with speakers:write. Read-only keys get "contact_hidden": true and no contact fields.

Add a speaker

1

Pick a category (optional)

Use a category’s id as category_id (for example “Keynote speaker”).
2

Upload a photo (optional)

Follow Uploading photos and keep the resulting media id.
3

Create the speaker

Only first_name is required. The response is the speaker, with its id.

Update a speaker

PUT /events/{eventID}/speakers/{speakerID} replaces the profile: send every field you want to keep. Fields you leave out are cleared.

Things to know

  • description accepts simple formatting (paragraphs, bold, italic, lists, links). Anything else, such as scripts or styles, is removed.
  • photo_media_id must be an image in your organisation’s media library.
  • social_links keys: website, facebook, x, linkedin, instagram, youtube, tiktok, telegram, whatsapp.
  • Speaker settings choose which profile fields appear publicly; contact details never do.
